Letters home is a collaboration between two hometown friends: Emery Mesich and Sterling Cozza. Their musical upbringing began alongside each other in high school in Sacramento, CA. From their first jam sessions after school, and through many trials and tribulations which lay ahead, their musical bond remained strong.

Their paths led them in differing directions; Emery's to the Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA, and Sterling's to the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, NY. This distance was not far enough, however, to prevent them from maintaining their musical bond.

During the final year of their degrees, the two met again. This time, Sterling brought along two musical collaborators and members of a trio at the time, Matt Bent and Tyrone Allen. What followed became a collaboration spanning two coasts, which ultimately became:
"Letters Home."
